Drama is both a Practical and written subject and is assessed in both areas broken down into three units for the overall full GCSE. Unit 1 - Drama Exploration 1 -Coursework (30%) and a controlled six hour practical exploration, and Documentary evidence – 2000 words maximum; Unit 2 – Exploring Play Texts; Coursework (30%) six hour Practical exploration and documentary response of 1000 words, plus a Theatre Review of a live performance.  Unit 3 – Drama Performance (40%) Controlled Assessment – performance of play, devised or scripted to a visiting examiner.

You will learn how Drama is created, including the acting and staging skills that are needed to put a piece of drama on the stage; how to create characters and play characters in performance; and learn many skills that are highly valued in any walk of life including teamwork and confidently presenting yourself in public.
