Religious Studies is a compulsory subject in KS3 and can be an invaluable qualification to have at GCSE level.

Students develop key transferable skills in critical analysis, argumentation and communication.

Religious Studies enables students to adopt an enquiring, critical and reflective approach to the study of religion. It helps them explore religions and beliefs, reflect on fundamental questions, engage with them intellectually and respond personally.

The subject enhances their spiritual and moral development, and contributes to their health and wellbeing.  It enhances their personal, social and cultural development, their understanding of different cultures locally, nationally and in the wider world, and contributes to social and community cohesion. We hope to develop their interest in and enthusiasm for the study of religion, and relate it to the wider world and enable them to reflect on and develop their own values, opinions and attitudes in light of their learning.
